Cities we serve in New York County

Every page keeps to what is true of that place. Greenwich Village and Midtown Manhattan carry parade and market crowds, Crown Heights has Eastern Parkway on Labor Day, and Harlem has the African American Day Parade on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. Staten Island's east shore is where the marathon starts, and Coney Island is where summer heat meets beach crowds.

Across the Hudson, Hoboken has multi-block street festivals, Jersey City has Liberty State Park and a run of high-rise projects, and East Rutherford and Harrison sit beside stadiums that manage their own sanitation. If your place is not listed, the ZIP checker will tell you whether the address is inside the area.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Yonkers or Great Neck covered?

Not at the moment. Coverage is set by distance from the New York anchor, and some places with ZIP codes just inside 25 km were left off because there was little verified local detail to write about. Call with your town and ZIP and you will get a straight answer about whether a provider serves you.

Are the New Jersey towns in the same service area as the boroughs?

Yes. Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne, Newark, East Rutherford and Harrison are within the 25 km circle and each has its own page. Rules for events there come from the town or the state, not from the New York City event office.

Why do the pages differ so much between neighborhoods?

Because the jobs differ. A parade route, a waterfront park, a stadium district and a construction site on an old industrial campus raise different questions about placement, access and servicing, and each page sticks to the questions that place actually raises.

Can a unit be placed on a Manhattan sidewalk?

That depends on the permit, the street and the provider. The line cannot say. For a street event the Street Activity Permit Office handles the registration, and the provider can tell you what placement it can manage at your site.
